The Women, as they are, In their most fragile moments, and their most honest. Despite all that weighs upon their hearts, and despite the fear, they tell the story, as if the act of storytelling itself is an act of survival. Gazawyat… They are not only survivors, but keepers of the narrative. They turn exhaustion into strength, grief into language, and despair into a light that never burns. Gazawyat is a group of four short documentaries produced by Filmlab Palestine, reminding us that women, even in the harshest moments, find a way to remain, to speak, and to shine on. About the Films: Fidaa by Khaled Tuaima | 11 min: The film follows Fidaa Abu Maryam on her journey to wield storytelling as a psychological shield. By gathering the testimonies of Gazan women, she transforms their narratives into a living archive of feminist memory, defying oblivion and reclaiming the self from the heart of the ruins. Hadeel by Aisha Adly | 6 min Far from the news, a silent genocide seeks to crush the humanity and femininity of women in displacement camps. The film dives into spontaneous moments of shared storytelling, where displaced women gather to reclaim their selves through ancient rituals. It is their attempt to rebuild the fortress of femininity dismantled by displacement, a bold declaration that the dignity of the body is the enduring reflection of the soul amidst the ruins. Maha by Moayed Abu Ammouneh | 4 min: The film tells the story of Maha Abu Ammouneh, a displaced mother who, in the heart of genocide, becomes a mother, teacher, doctor, and refuge, reinventing life for her children from nothing through imagination and play to shield them from fear and create a safer world within the ruins. Noor by Shorouq Al-Aila | 7 min: The film follows Nour, a Palestinian journalist living through genocide between frontline reporting and displacement, as life inside a tent exposes the fragility of privacy, the body, and marriage, turning her daily existence into a silent struggle for dignity, voice, and humanity under constant threat. About the Directors: Khaled Team Palestinian filmmaker from Northern Gaza known for his documentary work capturing life under siege. A self‑taught director, he documents the reality of survival and resilience in Gaza amid the ongoing war. His work has been included in international art and film programs highlighting Gaza’s creative resistance and artistic testimony from within the war. Aisha Adly Born in Gaza, Palestinian journalist and documentary filmmaker. Starting her journey as a photographer, she held three solo exhibitions that captured the human dimension of life in Gaza before transitioning into cinema, earning a diploma in directing and screenwriting. After her debut documentary, “Yalla ‘Aldabkeh”, supported by the Palestinian Ministry of Culture, Adly pivoted to documenting the unseen scars of the current conflict. Her recent work includes the feature documentary “+477 Nights” and the film project “Wahn”, a poignant examination of the harrowing experience of pregnancy under genocide. Moayed Abu Ammouneh Gaza-based artist, holds a BA in Media (Radio and Television) from Al-Aqsa University. His practice spans multiple mediums, including filmmaking, photography, and experimental visual production. Through his work, Moayad explores concepts of land, collective memory, and displacement, navigating social and historical traumas alongside the systems that shape the future. He employs his creative practice to deconstruct these themes and reproduce them visually. Moayad has produced numerous artistic projects that have been showcased in local and international art exhibitions and film festivals. Shorouq Al-Aila Palestinian journalist and documentary filmmaker from Gaza, and an award-winning correspondent whose work illuminates life under siege and war.
